WEB Deck
WEB Deck provides a solid and stable working platform which feels like scaffolding. Users are able to carry out a variety of heavy work tasks off the deck as if it were scaffolding.
The system is suitable for many work areas including the underdeck of jetties, rigs, bridges and pipe racks. A WEB Deck system is fully engineered to the load requirement of a project and the structure it is rigged from.
The WEB Deck System is fully compliant with PUWER 1998 as a temporary work platform. The system is installed by trained rope access WEB Deck installers.
Benefits
Minimal Installation Time & Cost: The system is easily manoeuvrable and fast to rig, reducing installation time and costs comparative to scaffolding. WEB Decks clip on to catenary wires without the use of tools, reducing installation time.
Lightweight system: WEB Deck systems are lightweight meaning that structures with load limits can usually take the weight of a WEB Deck system.
Full containment: The system can be installed with full containment for works over water.
Specification
- The system is lightweight at 14kg per m2
- Loading capacity varies from 0.5kN to 5.5kN UDL m2 depending upon the contract requirements
- Decking is an aluminium extrusion with impregnated FR Plywood or Aluminium Grated Flooring
- Full containment FR polyester netting for edge protection with low deflection
Case Study - Volvo Web Deck
To show how strong the WEB Deck is and to escape the notorious Edinburgh parking wardens, we hired an enormous forklift and parked all 1,970kgs of our old Volvo on our demo unit! The calculations stated that the WEB Deck is strong enough, but we are practical people and wanted to see it for real.
